Dr. Dwyer specializes in individual psychotherapy. Through her years of experience, she has helped people navigate through challenging times to find solutions that work for them in their distinct situations. Leslie’s practice has evolved to focus on working with people suffering with anxiety or depression, those experiencing a significant loss, individuals or partners of individuals confronting serious or chronic illness and people carrying injuries or trauma originating in childhood experience. Over the course of her career, Dr. Dwyer has had the privilege of working with a diverse population and a full spectrum of psychological diagnoses. Leslie integrates the unique philosophical, religious and spiritual orientations of her patients. Dr. Dwyer consults with primary care providers, psychiatrists and other health care providers in order to assure comprehensive care. She closely adheres to ethical standards, and refers to other professionals whenever this is in the best interests of her patients.
Dr. Dwyer received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and her Masters in Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC#257), and a clinical member of the American Psychological Association and the American Mental Health Counselor’s Association.
